Tammy’s counseling mission holds to the social work profession core values of: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, prioritizing the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. Tammy provides counsel to families, children, adolescents and adults ages 4-88. Tammy is clinically trained and experienced to address issues such as sexual abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, communication problems, child and adolescent behavior problems and parenting difficulties. Tammy has completed 67 hours of classroom training with TEACCH the University of North Carolina’s Autism Program, bringing her specific training in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder to 91 hours. TEACCH was founded by Dr. Eric Schopler in 1972, TEACCH is a model for other programs around the world in working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum. She is working to complete the requirements to become a TEACCH Certified Practitioner. Tammy uses an eclectic approach to counseling based on individual needs and concerns. Treatment may include the use of the following therapies and interventions: Structured TEACCHing, Play, Reality, Cognitive Behavioral, Imago, Guided Imagery, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Christian Counseling.
